Please note that all parcels must be well packaged. This is to reduce the possibility of damage. Please ensure that the delivery address is clearly visible and well attached to the parcel, this will reduce the possibility of it getting lost. Where possible, please provide a phone number for the receipent.
Q1. Who will collect my parcel(s)?
A1. Your parcel will be collected by the chosen 3rd party most suited to your request. The dimensions, weight, destination and timescales will all be factors in selecting the optimum carrier and providing the most competitive price.
One of the following 3rd parties will be chosen : DHL, Business Post or Parceline.
Q2. What are the size and weight restrictions for my parcel(s)?
A2. We can accomadate most size and weight requirements. If your shipment cannot be calculated by the Price Calculator, please contact the office for a quote.
Q3. Will my parcel(s) be insured for loss or damage?
A3. Standard insurance of £50 comes with each booking. If the value of your parcel is greater than this, extra insurance can be purchased but this must be requested at the time of booking. If extra insurance is not requested, then the £50 insurance cover will apply. See Terms and Conditions 1.5.
Q4. Can I track my parcel on-line?
A4. Yes. All shipments are trackable. When your parcel is collected, the driver will give you a receipt. This will have your consignment number on it which you can input on the carriers web site to track your parcels journey.
Q5. What paper-work do I need to send with my parcel(s)?
A5. Within the UK and Europe, there is no requirement for paper-work e.g. invoice. Outside of the EU, you will need to send 2 copies of an invoice which will detail the contents, value etc. A template invoice can be obtained by clicking this link.
Q6. Do I need to pay VAT ?
A6. Within Europe VAT is applicable.
Q7. Do I need to pay duties and/or taxes?
A7. This will depend on where you are sending to. Within the EU, currently, duties and taxes due not apply. Sending outside of the EU may require the reciepent to pay a duty or tax, depending on the location and the description of the goods. The payment of Duties or taxes is the responsibility of the sender or the receiver and is not included in the price for carriage. You will need to contact Customs & Excise for further information on these requirements.
Q8. Are there any Export Restrictions?
A8. There are restrictions on certain items. For advise on this you can contact our office. Some packages may need to be inspected by the carrier prior to sending. (Especially goods travelling outside of the EU). Please seek advice prior to sending.
Q9. Volumetric or actual weight - what does this mean?
A9. The volumetric weight of your parcel is calculated using the dimensions of your parcel. The volumetric weight is charged where the size of the parcel is proportionally greater than the actual weight.
