T & C's

Parcel Post Services UK Ltd does not execute every service itself, but provides the means for customers to book a range of services. 

Parcel Post Services UK Ltd may at its discretion use 3rd parties or subcontractors for the provision of the service.

Parcel Post Services UK Ltd reserves the right to refuse a booking, although a full refund will be issued if applicable.

All services are subject to availability and coverage.

Parcel Post Services UK Ltd's responsibility in the transaction is the collection of information and or parcel and the transfer to the carrier. (Standard insurance is provided at all times from collection to delivery – extra insurance available – please see INSURANCE below)

Parcel Post Services UK Ltd will mediate between its customers and the carrier to settle any disputes, claims or enquiries.

If the owner is not the owner of some or all parts of the goods sent through Parcel Post Services UK Ltd the customer hereby accepts/warrants that it is the lawful and authorised agent of the owner of the goods and indemnifies Parcel Post Services UK Ltd against any liability which it might incur as a result of the customer not having the authority of the owner to consign the goods.

Parcel Post Services UK Ltd may change policy from time to time and will provide at least 7 days notice.

 

CHARGES 1.1

If a consignment is heavier or larger than stated at the time of booking Parcel Post Services UK Ltd may make additional charges to cover the extra size and weight of the parcel or number of parcels sent.

The customer agrees not to withhold any payment to Parcel Post Services UK Ltd due to any outstanding claim.The absence of any collection or delivery consignment note does not allow the customer to withhold payment.

The customer must supply all the correct information at the time of booking including collection and delivery names, addresses and telephone numbers. Parcel Post Services UK Ltd is not responsible if the customer does not supply the correct information, or supplies incorrect information.

Any money supplied to Parcel Post Services UK Ltd is for services only. Any money paid to Parcel Post Services UK Ltd does not cover any duties or taxes which may be payable.

 

CUSTOMER LIABILITY 1.2

Insufficient or incorrect information about the size, weight or content of the parcel(s) may lead to non-delivery and or additional charges. The return of a parcel(s) may also incurr a return to sender fee.

 

 

PACKAGING 1.3

The customer confirms that they have packaged the goods to ensure a safe transportation ensuring no harm to persons or the environment.

The driver reserves the right to refuse a parcel at the point of collection if he/she deems the goods to be packaged incorrectly.

The customer will not send any prohibited items(a list of prohibited items available on request).

The customer will indemnify Parcel Post Services UK Ltd against all loss, costs, damages or expenses or any other liability in the event of sending any items which are prohibited.

Parcel Post Services UK Ltd will not knowingly accept any prohibited items.

 

CLAIMS 1.4

If a consignment is lost or damaged the customer must notify Parcel Post Services UK Ltd within 3 days with proof of value being submitted within the same time. Claims are processed by our subcontractor and the subcontractor will investigate any claim and the outcome of the claim will be entirely at their discretion. Parcel Post Services UK Ltd will mediate between its customer and the carrier.

Failure to report a lost or damaged parcel within 3 days will void any claim.

When reporting a lost or damaged parcel the customer must supply a full consignment note or parcel number.

Any claim for loss or damage must include a proof of value receipt.

Once any claim correspondence is received by Parcel Post Services UK Ltd we will forward this onto the relevant carrier. Any decision can take up to 3 months.

Claims cannot be made for late collection or delivery unless the service is guaranteed.

Claims cannot be made for loss of earnings.

Claims cannot be made for consequential loss.

 

INSURANCE 1.5
Any booking made with Parcel Post Services UK Ltd will include standard insurance of £50. The insurance cover provided will be appropriate to the Terms and Conditions of the relevant carrier in each case. Parcel Post Services UK Ltd can offer extra insurance for an extra cost, which must be requested by the customer. If extra insurance is not requested, then the standard insurance rate will apply in all cases.

When a consignment has been accepted by a 3rd party or subcontractor, then the terms and conditions of the aforementioned carrier apply, that carrier will now be responsible for any loss or damage, not Parcel Post Services UK Ltd. Only approved 3rd parties/contractors are used.

If added insurance is required, the customer is responsible for requesting this at the time of booking.

Please be aware that the following goods are excluded from compensation.

•  Antiques (objects over 100 years old).

•  Articles made largely or wholly of gold, silver or other precious metals.

•  Watches.

•  Ceramics such as ornamental and decorative china, resin and porcelain.

•  Diamonds and other precious stones.

•  Glassware.

•  Hazardous or dangerous goods, prohibited or restricted items.

•  Jewellery (except imitation).

•  Real fur.

•  Stamps.

•  Negotiable documents.

 

 

 

•  Money - current bank note, currency note or coins, uncrossed postal orders which do not state to whom they are to be paid, cheques or dividend warrants which are uncrossed and made payable to the bearer; bearer securities including share warrants, scrips or subscription certificates, bonds or relative coupons; unobliterated postage or revenue stamps (except a revenue stamp embossed or impressed on an instrument which has been executed); airline tickets, coupons, vouchers, tokens, stamps or similar documents which can be exchanged by themselves or with any other document for money, goods or services, national insurance stamps or bankers drafts.

Please note: collectables - items which have appreciated in value either due to their scarcity or due to their being out of production are not excluded from cover. However, any compensation payable for loss of, or damage to, any collectable shall be limited to the actual price paid for the collectable.

 

REFUNDS 1.6

All refund requests must be placed in writing or by email with full name collection address, delivery address, and parcel or consignment numbers and a claim form supplied by Parcel Post Services UK Ltd.  

Refunds are not given for late collection or consequential loss. 

 
COLLECTION OF GOODS 1.7
Collections are scheduled for between 9am and 5pm. Parcel Post Services Uk Ltd will endevour to have each collection carried out on the requested date, however this may not always be possible due to circumstances beyond our control.
The customer is responsible for the appropriate and safe packaging of all parcels and to ensure that there is someone available at the delivery address to sign for the goods. Any insurance claim(s) will be subject to a thorough inspection of all packaging. Insufficient or poorly packed parcels may affect the outcome of a claim. It is the customers responsibility to ensure the parcel(s) are ready for collection and that someone is available to meet the driver. A attempted/failed collection may result in a charge, due to a charge being imposed by the carrier.

 
 
 
 
On making these terms and conditions available it is understood that you the customer have read and agree to abide by the terms and conditions laid out.
